Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how OhmBit ("we", "us", or "our"), the data controller, collects, uses, and protects your personal information across the OhmBit brand — including the OhmBit website and the OhmBit Browser Agent.

We aim to collect only the minimum information needed to provide and improve our services, and to be transparent about where your data goes. The OhmBit Browser Agent has distinct data practices, described in its own section near the end of this policy.

Like most online services, our servers automatically record basic request data (such as IP address and request timestamps) needed to serve and secure OhmBit.

When you create an OhmBit account, we collect the information you provide to register (such as username and email address), authentication data, and aggregated usage information used to provide and display your account.

The OhmBit Browser Agent collects additional data to run AI tasks on your behalf — see the dedicated "OhmBit Browser Agent" section below.

We use the information we collect to provide, operate, and secure OhmBit, to communicate with you about your account, and to improve our services.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your conversations or page content to train AI models.

OhmBit uses only essential cookies needed to operate our services — for example, to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

The Browser Agent stores your settings and data locally in your browser rather than in cookies, and contains no analytics or tracking SDKs.

We share personal information only as described in this policy: with service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations, and where required by law.

When the Browser Agent runs a task, your prompts and page snapshots are sent to the AI model provider you have configured, which may be located outside your country. Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for such transfers.

We do not share your data with advertising networks or analytics vendors.

Playground: what you send in the playground and the images and audio generated there are kept as your conversation records. You can delete those records from the playground; after deletion they are no longer visible to you, and the server retains them for a retention period (at least 30 days) before cleaning up.

We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide our services and as permitted by law. Browser Agent data is stored locally on your device (see the Browser Agent section).

When the OhmBit-managed AI provider is active, our servers retain only the aggregate usage accounting needed to track your plan; the contents of your prompts and responses are not persistently stored on our servers outside of normal request processing.

We protect data in transit using encryption (TLS/HTTPS) and limit access to systems that may hold personal data to authorised personnel on a least-privilege basis.

Browser Agent data stays on your device by default and is not stored on our servers.

No system is perfectly secure, but collecting the minimum data necessary limits the potential impact of any incident.

You can review or update your account information, and you may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (see "Your Legal Rights").

In the Browser Agent, you can delete individual conversations, use "Reset All Data" to clear everything stored locally, or remove your API keys at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

You are free to use any supported AI provider, including self-hosted endpoints, instead of the OhmBit-managed provider.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comparable data-protection law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Legal basis: where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating and securing OhmBit and, where you use the OhmBit-managed provider, the performance of our contract with you.

The OhmBit Browser Agent is a browser extension that automates web pages on your behalf using AI models you choose. Its data practices are separate from the website:

What it collects: the API keys you configure (such as an OhmBit-managed key or third-party keys like Anthropic or OpenAI), your conversations and messages, the model configuration you choose, and — when a task runs on a tab — the page content (DOM, title, and URL) needed to build a snapshot for the model. It also stores your settings, per-domain trust decisions, and, if enabled, notes the agent saves across sessions.

Where it is stored: all of the above is stored locally in your browser (via IndexedDB and chrome.storage), not on OhmBit servers. It persists until you delete it or uninstall the extension.

How it is shared: when the agent runs, your prompts and page snapshots are sent to the AI provider you configured. If you use the OhmBit-managed provider, this traffic flows through the OhmBit service; otherwise it goes directly to your chosen provider.

Your choices: delete conversations from the side panel, use "Reset All Data" to wipe local data, or remove API keys at any time. You can use any supported provider, including self-hosted endpoints.

OhmBit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
